How Slite started their equity compensation policy
Before adopting Easop, Christophe (Founder and CEO of Slite) and his team encountered numerous obstacles when it came to international equity grants.
They had to rely on external legal counsels for every stock option issuance, which not only resulted in substantial expenses 💰 but also introduced delays ⏳. Most of the time they had to promise stock options to their team members before actually being able to grant them. It took them sometimes 2 years before being able to grant the stock options they had promised at the time of hiring.
Moreover, tracking and reporting stock options across their global workforce was a tedious and costly process as the data was scattered across various spreadsheets.
This complexity created challenges for their compensation team and unease about potentially making mistakes.

At Slite, everyone gets equity when they join and a refresher when they vested their first tranche. Changing position does not normally trigger a top up, but there might be exceptions for high performers to bring them up to the correct equity level.
Grantees appreciate the FAQs and Tax and Reporting pages that are specific to their country of residence and work relationship. It is much more detailed and easier to understand than what they can get in Carta (which is usually more US oriented). The projections are also very much appreciated by the grantees that can visualize what might happen with their equity if things go well for the company.
